Artificial Intelligence and the EDUpro Platform

Beita Municipality organized, today, Wednesday 4/6/2025, a specialized awareness session entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Smart Education – Get Ready for the Future”, in cooperation with the Directorate of Education – South Nablus, with distinguished participation from educational and community institutions, teachers, and General Secondary Education students (Tawjihi).

The session was opened by the Head of Beita Municipality, journalist Mahmoud Barham, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of spreading artificial intelligence awareness within the local community. He stressed the necessity of raising awareness about the advantages, risks, and ethics of this technology, especially among students and teachers who constitute the nucleus of the future.

The session was enriched by high-quality contributions from a group of specialized speakers from the teams of aba Company and stempier Company, the designers of the EDUpro platform.


  •  Dr. Nadim Joudeh, a lecturer at the University of Oslo, delivered a comprehensive introductory presentation on artificial intelligence concepts, its types, and recent developments, emphasizing its central role in shaping the future of education and work.


  • Dr. Mona Dmeidi, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Sciences at the Arab American University and holder of a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, addressed the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence and its societal impact. She highlighted future university specializations related to this field and emphasized the importance of motivating students to explore these promising directions.  She also announced the nomination of the EDUpro platform for an international award in recognition of its innovation and societal impact in the field of education.


  • In turn, Mr. Samer Khudair Al-Betawi provided a detailed explanation of the EDUpro platform and the work of aba and stempier companies, noting that the platform is a Palestinian educational platform based on artificial intelligence that serves Tawjihi students. He pointed out that the platform is now ready for use and open to students, with a commitment from the working team to its continuous development.


  • Engineer Sohaib Dweikat delivered a practical presentation on how to use the platform, showcasing its most prominent technical and interactive features that provide a flexible and personalized learning experience.


The session witnessed wide interaction and fruitful discussions among the participants, opening new horizons regarding the importance of keeping pace with digital transformation and adopting smart educational tools that enhance students’ capabilities and raise the quality of education in Palestine.

At the conclusion of the event, Beita Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the use of technology across its various services, indicating that it is heading in the coming phase toward digitizing municipal services to provide a more efficient and transparent experience for citizens, in line with global digital transformations and the aspirations of the local community.
